How to speak lingerie: Bustier, negligee, and corset
The next time you want to add a little oomph to your look, in or out of the bedroom, one of these items might do the trick nicely.
Bustier
What it is : A fitted, one-piece bodice that supports the breasts—typically with cups—and cinches the waist. Can create an hourglass shape. Usually strapless.
When to wear it : Can be worn for fun in the bedroom or as a body shaping piece under clothes—or you can wear it on the outside like Madonna in the ‘80s.
Negligee
What it is : Another word for nightgown, but especially a super sexy one that often involves lace.
When to wear it : To bed. To flirt. To flirt in bed…
Corset
What it is : A support garment. Often boned and very close fitting with hooks and ties. It supports the breasts from underneath and can appear to make one’s waist smaller. These are often very tight and can smush the breasts, so make sure you find the right fit for you.
When to wear it : Some can be worn as a top. Some are for the bedroom. Some are even worn to correct posture.
XOXO,
Bedsider
