LGBTQ health research? There’s an app for that
A team of researchers at the University of California, San Francisco, is conducting the first large, multi-year study of people who consider themselves LGBTQ. They’re calling it The PRIDE Study . It’s a 21st century version of the Framingham Heart Study all about the health of the LGBTQ community.
Where do I sign up?
Anyone over age 18 can be a part of the study. All you have to do to participate is take a 30-minute survey once a year. You may also be invited to take part in additional online surveys, but those will be optional.
It takes about 10 minutes to tell the researchers you’re interested in participating . Once you sign up, you can help shape what kinds of questions will be included in the surveys. The PRIDE team is asking every participant: “What research questions do you hope The PRIDE Study will address?” So if you have questions about sexual health or birth control, sign up and make your voice heard!
